For those who are not familiar with the Philippines, this is a Jeepney, which is a jitney (a small bus that carries passengers over a regular route on a flexible schedule). It’s called a Jeepney because the original ones were mostly surplus military Jeeps from World War II converted for civilian use after the war. Modern Jeepneys are manufactured by local Filipino auto makers, giving them a distinct look that pays homage to its Jeep roots, but with a local Filipino flair.
