  1. You should look into getting an Eye-Fi card for your camera. It’s a SD card for your camera that has Wi-Fi built into it.

In the past it’d connect to a hotspot and upload your all of your images to your computer or a website as you take them. That’s cool and all, but not that handy when you’re in the middle of nowhere like you were.

However, they recently introduced a direct mode where the Eye-Fi card can act as it’s own hotspot if it can’t find any known Wi-Fi networks. So what you do is set up your phone to connect to the Eye-Fi card’s hotspot and then the Eye-Fi app on your phone downloads the photos off your camera and into your phone’s camera roll. Then you can e-mail, tweet, or whatever the image as if it was taken on your phone even though in reality it was taken on your much better regular camera. Or if you have an iPad, it’s a great way to preview a much bigger version of the photo you just took.

I got one a day or two ago (the Connect X2 as it was cheap) and am loving it so far.

No, I wasn’t paid to endorse their product, as much as it may seem. 😉
