I have a technical question, Is WordPress taking the parameters after the picture name, in this case w=700 and h=522 and automatically adjusting the output jpg image to that specified width and height?
If yes, then that is sweet. I normally don’t expect JPG images to be dynamic content. I work a lot with Akamai and caching content, so in this case you will want Akamai to cache the image with the specified parameters as part of the cache key such that Akamai will return the correct image based on the specified height and width.

Yes, we basically expose the bulk of the ImageMagick API through the query string, including resizing, cropping, and filters.
