So how much faster is a SSD on a PCI card over same size drive on Sata controller? Also, what is seek time on those SSD’s and how do they compare to say a ~7200 rpm?

This is the part that boggles my mind:
For reference, normal SSD’s are 150-250MB/s read and 50-150MB/sec write.

There is no seek time on a SSD as there’s no mechanical parts.
