A few updates

It’s Labor day so we’ve been working extra hard for you. Here are a few of the latest improvements on WordPress.com:

  • Managing links works better.
  • You can now use extended entries with the “more” WYSIWYG button.
  • You now get less generic profile information on registration.
  • Invites are a lot smarter — it prefiles a lot of information for people you invite.
  • When you invite someone you’re automatically added to their blogroll on their new blog.
  • Feedback form works in IE.
  • The cool fade I alluded to before is now in full effect. (Delete some more posts and comments.)
  • It should be faster now (and we haven’t even moved to the new servers yet).

All the electricity problems have been solved in the new colo and thanks to the super-human Jason Hoffman everything has been racked and stacked and we’ll begin configuring them this week.

  1. Just tested out the feedback link. I love how the color fades. Pretty nice. I’m enjoying WP.com so far. I can’t wait to see what else you add to it. Hope you’re doing well! – Kathy

  2. Actually the delete function appears to be broken for me. When I hit it it does delete but doesn’t do any cool fade. I get the dialog and accept that but then I get an “error on page” message in the status bar (line 48, Char 3, Object does not support this action on benriga.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php). I have to hit refresh to see that the item has in fact been deleted. I’m running IE6.

  3. Sorry, Internet Explorer isn’t supported right now. It should be fixed tomorrow or the next day though, we just need to get in front of a Windows box.
